For more than 20 years, youth agencies in the Barwon sub-Region
have encouraged their workers to contribute to the development of
a hugely successful community network. This large, inclusive network
of 200+ members, relies on the participation of all workers, Government
representatives schools and interested community members.
Through a well managed, collaborative approach, projects are put into
action which are grounded in local research and cross-agency planning
to meet the diverse and changing needs of young people . As a result,
BATForce continues as a valued and greatly utilised resource by all
agencies having an interest in young people in the area. The State
Government has been instrumental in the achievements of BATForce though
provision of funding for the past 16 years

Vision Statement
BATForce is the peak youth affairs body of the Barwon Region,
strives to improve opportunities and choices for all young
people, 10-25 years, by maintaining an informed impartial
open network of youth, community sector agencies and schools,
which advocates for the interests of young people and the
network.
BATForce enables and supports workers within this network to collaborate
in policy and planning and in the provision of a comprehensive range
of quality services that meet the diversity of needs in the Barwon
Region.
Objectives
- To ensure that all youth, community sector agencies and schools
and individuals within these organisations have access to, and
are encouraged to participate in, an informed, impartial, open
network.
- To ensure that all youth, community sector agencies and schools
and individuals within these organisations act collaboratively
in the development of policies, planning and the provision of
services.
- To raise awareness and advocate for the interests of young people
and the service network
- To balance the competing demands of youth, community sector
and schools, with a commitment to best use of resources, to produce
the best possible outcomes for young people.
