Sport Access - Leisure Networks

Leisure Networks are partnering with the Geelong & District Football League to deliver Sportsaccess GDFL, a scholarship program for 15 – 18 year olds to join a GDFL affiliated football or netball club for the winter 2014 season. The program will assist in getting youth into sporting clubs at a time where cost is the major barrier to participation. Aspects such as membership, uniform, game fees, insurance and any essential equipment can be funded, up to a maximum $300. Eligibility is very simple, you or your family need to be currently receiving government financial assistance such as Education Maintenance Allowance, Disability Pension Card or Low Income Health Care Card and need to be between 15 and 18 years of age.

There are limited places available for youth to join either an Under 16 or Under 18 football side, or an Under 15 and Under 17 netball side. Applications close Tuesday March 26 at 4pm. A maximum of 3 applications can be submitted by any one school/agency, and will be treated on a first in best dressed basis, so those that get in quick will be more likely to be successful.
